Learning
to Scuba Dive
Scuba certification consists of three parts: Theory,
Pool Training and Open Water Dives.
Theory
Combining classroom
and at-home study, the Theory portion of your certification class
discusses
the effects that diving has on your body, the scuba equipment
and how to effectively use it, and the underwater environment
that
you will be entering when you are diving. The at-home portion
of the class is accomplished through textbook assignments and
video
programs.
Pool Training
Houston Scuba Academy conducts its pool
classes in our indoor, heated pool that is located on site. In
the classes,
you’ll become familiar with the equipment you studied in
the theory classes and learn basic scuba skills necessary to
fully enjoy the underwater environment.
Open Water Dives
Upon completion
of the Theory and Pool classes, you hit the open water. In these
classes, you demonstrate your scuba skills at a local dive site,
complete with fish, sunken boats and other things to investigate.
Upon successful completion of the required exercises and dives,
you are a certified diver, ready to enter Neptune’s realm
whenever you want.
